Possible to exclude WhatsApp from Android sync?

I sync Android 2.3.6 to Mozilla Thunderbird. I recently installed WhatsApp Android for free text messaging but it creates duplicate contacts for everyone in your address book who also uses WhatsApp (by recognising their phone number) and joins this to the main contact. So when it comes to the sync it wants to add the new dummy contacts to Thunderbird which would just be clutter. I selected 'Never sync...' for them all but imagine there'll be more in the future as more people join WhatsApp. It there any way to filter these out in MPE?

Open the settings in MyPhoneExplorer Client on the phone and uncheck WhatsApp in "Contact accounts to sync"
