Loading entries from Thunderbird failed!

I have been using MPE for quite a while without problems. I upgraded to version 1.8.4 awhile ago and everything still worked fine.

Today I started getting the following error:

Loading entries from Thunderbird failed!

I was trying to sync the Lightning calendar (which has worked fine in the past). First I get the sync progress bar which progresses to about 1/2 way and then I get the error.

Any idea what might be wrong or how I can fix it?

FJ,

Any ideas? This is preventing me from syncing to my phone. I've tried re-booting the computer and that doesn't help.

Can no one really help me? Can one of the developers maybe tell me why MPE would give this error message? I've tried everything and can't seem to get this to work. Help!!

Victor,

Sorry to hear you are having the same problem. As you can see I can't get anyone to reply to my post.

I've tried one more thing. I uninstalled Thunderbird 17.0.4 and reinstalled 17.0.3 to see if it was a problem with the latest release of Thunderbird. That didn't help. I got the same error.

Hopefully someone will eventually reply to our posts.

Since it has been more than 2 weeks and no one has tried to help at all on this problem, I guess I'll have to move on to some other product. A complete lack of technical support for a product is also a deal breaker.

Motorola Droid Razr Maxx
Kindle Fire HD
Windows 7 - 64 bit
MPE 1.8.4
Thunderbird 17.0.4
Lightning 1.9.1
MPE addon 2.0.15

I can't sync to my phone or tablet. The problem comes before trying to actually sync. It can't load the info from Thunderbird into MPE.

I've download a trial of BirdieSync to see if that would work and it works fine using the same calendar in Thunderbird. So it seems like it is a problem in MPE of some kind.

it's similar on my device. I can sync phone and MPE on Desktop. But the sync MPE and TB fails. MPE starts, receives data from TB, I flag whichone to prefer and click on ok. Then .. MPE's gone. I'm no technician, but today I have to read the Logdata and hopefully find sth. Another one replied to my post and said that he unchecked and checked again the flags in "synchronisation"/"calendar"/"extended". This worked with him, but not on my computer.

Birdiesync might be an alternative, don't know...

I've given up hope of ever getting help from the developers. I've moved on to another program.

Another tip when the calendar sync does not work with Thunderbird:
-> increase the interface timeout in the sync settings

if you still have problems then check the Error console of Thundebird, this info would help to locate the problem very exactly

So, finally. Thunderbird wasn't involved in the problem. It was a internal, since the sync crashed also between Phone and PC.

Reason was an extreme long text in the description of an appointment in conjunction with "record synchronization". I received a debug-update .. and it worked again!

I was trying to synch 6 different calendars, several of which I had edited recently.

Through trial and error, I found the offending calendar (US Holidays). Since it was not a "vital" or constantly changing calendar, I just unchecked it from the synch and everything works fine now. Laughing

I guess that if it's a really important calendar that is preventing the synch, you could open the ICS file, find an unusual entry, and try to delete it. YMMV... Rolling Eyes
