can't connect at all

Beitrag von chax49 »

Hello,

I just installed MyPhoneExplorer on my PC and cell phone (Samsung Galaxy Y) and can't connect at all! As many people look happy with the application, I do not want to give up right away.

Here is what I already tried:
WIFI :the phone asks for a pin code - my WIFI key is alphanumeric and the app only allows numbers
USB:
- I turned on USB debug on the phone - I can access my folders of the phone from the PC once "connect USB storage" is acknowledged
- when I try "file - connect" in MyPhoneExplorer from the PC, I get "no USB device detected" while the cable is connected, in both situations - "connect USB storage" acknowledged or not = same result.

anybody can help?
Xavier

Have you gone onto your PC, opened MPE and played with the File > Settings?

thank you Bud for reading my post

However I have no idea about what MPE is and google did not help me on this.
Can you tell where to find this info?

Hi chax49,

first let me clarify that MPE is short name for MyPhoneExplorer.

The WiFi-PIN has nothing to do with your WiFi-key, it's simply a numeric PIN you can set in your phone's MPE client, so that you can be sure nobody else catches your MPE connection at same time (comparable with Bluetooth-PIN while pairing devices).
Try to set the same PIN on MPE client (on phone) and MPE desktop (on PC) when MPE desktop asks for this PIN.

Cause USB:
Did you install the USB-/ADB drivers for your Galaxy Y? Can you see your Phone as "Android device" in Windows' devicemanager?

best regards...
