Some contacts lost

Hi
I had to have my phone repaired, so I uploaded my contacts and other stuff into myphone explorer

When I restored the contacts on my phone I realised that not all my contacts were there
Now I don't know which contact I have lost

Is this a known bug? Do you plan to fix it?

I don't think there is a way to recover those contacts, my last backup is very old, but more than this I don't really know if I can trust that it really backed-up everything

Hi barbara,

which kind of phone do you have (Android / SE)?
In case of Android, check if all contact accounts are selected for synchronisation in MPE's client settings on the phone.
Are all contacts shown in MPE on your PC?

I have an android phone.
the contacts lost are from the phone contacts (I synchonise only MPE contacts, not the other accounts)
yes, I have added some of the missing accounts on the phone and then uploaded in MPC, they are ahown

Did you just sync MyPhoneExplorer or did you create a backup of your phone with MyPhoneExplorer before you sent your device to repair ?

If you created a backup then you could IMPORT the backupfile into the contactlist of MyPhoneExplorer (rightclick->Import/Export->Import...)

I uploaded my contacts on MPE before taking my device to the assistance, then to restore the contacts I couldn't simply download the contacts back on my phone, I had to use the "sync" function.
When I use sync I noticed (also in the past) that it mess up with some contacts.

I didn't do a back-up, thinking it was sufficient simply to upload and then download again my contacts.

Before applying the sync my contacts were there (at least those that I have looked for in MPE before having my phone back). after the sync some of those contacts disappeared.
I noticed also that most of the contacts that I lost was the ones joined with the google account or yahoo account. I lost only phone numbers, not the email addresses

I hope you can find a solution for the sync function.

The sync-function is bidirectional so when the phonebook is cleared then MPE will clear also the phonebook in MPE on sync. The only exception is when the phonebook is completly empty - in this case MyPhoneExplorer will ask to upload all items in MyPhoneExplorer to the phone. But since the phonebook was not empty after repair MyPhoneExplorer did download the fresh phonebook from the phone.

If you made no backup then the contacts will be lost, sorry
