Contacts and Windows Live Mail / Hotmail

Hi,
Email, SMS Texts, Contacts, Calendar, Notes, Tasks. What's the nest way to manage all these items and keep them synched between Android phone and laptop?
A big question but I find that, over time, I've established different tools for different jobs, and synching everything has become a nightmare!
I currently use:
Email - Hotmail in Windows Live Mail synched to phone
SMS - Android phone synched to MPE
Contacts, Calendar, Notes and Tasks - MPE synced to phone
The biggest problem I have at the moment is that Contacts in MPE/Phone aren't seen by Hotmail/Windows Live Mail. So I constantly have to manually type in email addresses for people, even though they are in MPE and the phone. True I can "add to contacts" in WLM, but then I'm managing two address books. Also, if I have to do a restore (as I had to yesterday when my phone needed a factory reset), all my WLM contacts disappear!
There must be an optimum way to handle these functions.
Any thoughts/ideas gratefully received!

As far as i know WLM does also access the "Windows contacts", so just sync your phone throught MPE with the Windows contacts. Menu-File-Settings-Sync

OK - thank you... I'll try that. Unfortunately my phone had to be sent away for repair but I'll try as soon as it comes back!
