I have switched to a new computer. Old running XP Pro, new Windows 7 Pro. Phone is Samsung Galaxy S II (Android).
Also switched MS Office, so I have gone from Outlook 2007 to Outlook 2010.
MyPhoneExporer worked fine with the old computer and Outlook 2007. An excellent product. I am still cursing Samsung Kies....
But before I try synchronizing the Samsung Galaxy S II with the new computer, I would be grateful for some advice. I do not want to damage my Outlook file as happened once before with Kies and the old computer (XP & Outlook 2007).
Advice, please. How should I make the change to the new computer, new Outlook and of course the new Outlook file? |

If there is a plain Outlook-Database then just sync your contacts with MPE -> he will push all contacts of the phone to Outlook. You should be also aware of the sync confirmation, so you'll know what MyPhoneExplorer wants to do BEFORE anything is touched |

Actually my situation is the reverse.
The latest contacts and calendar items are in the Outlook (2010) file on the new computer. The phone has the old contacts.
I would like to update the phone contacts and calendar items.
And I would like to be sure I do the update in a way that does not damage the outlook file.
Any advice, please. |

In Outlook you need to make sub-folders beneath your contacts. That way you can 'copy' all of the contacts from your main folder into one so that you ensure you have a copy if something goes wrong. Also, within MPE on your PC, you can select which Contact 'folders' are sync'ed to your phone. (File/Settings/Sync/etc etc) plus which direction the sync happens (just one-way or two-way).

To ensure that the Outlook-Data will be untouched you can choose "Force Outlook -> Phone" in the sync settings of MyPhoneExplorer |

Thank you for the suggestion. A couple of other questions:
Should I delete all the old contacts and calendar items from the phone before synchronizing (actually "copying" with "Force Outlook -> Phone")? I have a backup copy of the existing phone contacts in Samsung Kies just in case. When I had issues with Kies synchronization before and moved to MPE, I deleted all phone contacts and it worked fine.
Are there any issues with the new version of MyPhoneExplorer (1.8.3)?
I have Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. I suspect I have the 32 bit version of Office 2010 installed am not sure. Microsoft says that the standard install of Office 2010 is 32 bit, but I cannot find anything in Office on my computer that confirms this. Is 64-bit Outlook an issue with MPE? And how can I confirm what version of Office 2010 is on my computer (it was pre-installed by Dell)? |

Not needed

Currently it looks good, there is only a small issue with filesync, but maybe there are other bugs which are not found till now
Zitat: | Is 64-bit Outlook an issue with MPE? |
Yes and No. Its also possible to sync with Outlook 64bit but its much slower and you'll get the Outlook Security dialog on every sync |
