Has anyone been able to connect their HTC MyTouch 4G phone with MPE on Windows 7 using Bluetooth?
I followed the instructions at FJ Software View topic - Howto and FAQ Use Android Phones with MyPhoneExplorer:
1. Open MyPhoneExplorer Client on your cell.
2. Enable Bluetooth on your cell, switch your bluetooth mode to "Discoverable".
3. I paired my cell phone with my computer by going to Settings->Wireless & networks->Bluetooth Settings. Under Bluetooth Devices I see the name of my computer with the status "Paired but not connected". I press on my computer name in the list.
4. A popup window appears on my computer that says "Bluetooth device HTC MyTouch 4G is connected to the Headset service on this computer". On my phone's Bluetooth Settings, below the name of my computer, the status now says "Connected to phone and media audio."
6. Start MyPhoneExplorer on your computer.
7. Choose "File" -> "Settings".
8. Choose "Phone with Google-OS", select "Connect via Bluetooth". Then I selected one of two Bluetooth Ports: "COM3 RIM Virutal Serial Port v2" or "COM4 RIM Virutal Serial Port v2".
I don't know if it matters which one I select so I tried both.
10. Connect MPE with my phone by xxx on "File->Connect" in MPE.
However when I click on File->Connect in MPE, I get the error message:
"Connection to phone could not be established: Phone could not be identified".
Has anyone else been able to connect MPE on Win7 with an HTC MyTouch 4G? |

Both are not the right ports i think. Open your device in the Bluetooth-Environment and look´which Bluetooth services are hosted. There should be at least on serial Port called MyPhoneExplorer. Enable this port and then connect to it. If you have no luck to do it this way then it would be the best to use the Windows Bluetooth Stack instead of the one you have. |

Thank you for your solution. I clicked on:
Start->Control Panel->Devices and Printers and saw my HTC MyTouch 4G phone. I connected to the phone and then right-clicked on my phone and saw a service for MyPhoneExplorer which was not enabled. After enabling it, MPE was able to connect with my phone wirelessly and sync up.
Thanks again! |
