Weird File Sync
Weird File Sync
I'm relatively new to Android, but the phone I had before synced files the same way it synced anything else: by looking at which was the most recent (phone or PC), and copying that to the other side.
Looks to me like this program just dumps all the files from one side to the other, no matter which file is the most recent.
I set it up to do both sides (first PC->phone, then phone->PC), so that covers new files being copied no matter where they came from, but existing files aren't really synced - they're just overwritten if they happen to be most recent on the phone.
Any solution to this problem?

bi-directional filesync
Hi FJ and visitors,
I really like MyPhoneExplorer, it's WORKING and doing the job pretty well.
The only limitation that prevents me from using the file sync is the one-way design. Not fitting my needs, as I like to work on 2 desktops, and keep sync'ed data on the phone on-the-way.
I see you plan this for next release, please be sure that this feature will be really appreciated !
FYI it will be used for sync'ing between 1 phone and 2 desktops (at home and at work), so true-sync (based on date+time+size) is necessary for not loosing anything.
I don't speak about syncing *deleted* stuff between several targets, because that needs extra metadata to be saved, but well, if ever you can do it as well
that would be an extra bonus !
Keep the good work, again your program (both Android and Windows) are very well made. Thanks.

It will be a full bidirectional sync, timestamp based and also with file deletions. As i am currently on the last beta state you maybe want to test and feedback: http://www.fjsoft.at/files/MyPhoneExplo ... Update.exe

Just in time
Well, I realize that you just released v1.8.3 yesterday, so it's no more in BETA state. Ok I install this new version, and will surely use the bi-directional file sync. Thanks again. Chris.
SGS2
I just installed the new v.1.8.3 this morning, and the sync works fine on my Outlook entries - but none of the files! All I get is the error message: "Unable to read folder!" This is true for all of the 4 folder syncs that I have set up - even though I CAN see these folders when I browse for them using the PC installation of the program, so the program obviously CAN open them.
Any suggestions?
