@cabanachives: Just install the freshest client from Android-Market (v1.0.17)
@BJB: The +-issue should be fixed in the beta of the desktop version. Its a beta version, i think you will know the meaning. I will not tell every user if a beta with a specific build time will run stable. I try to keep the whole program stable, also throught the betas but its your own risk. |

The PC application does lock or the app on the phone ?
What you are syncing ? Outlook ?
How many appointments do you have stored in Outlook ? |

-THE PC Application locks up, I think, it seems like while I'm syncing organizer/calendars, but it didn't do it until I upgraded from GingerBread 2.3.5 to ICS 4.03
I'm syncing Outlook 2007 on Windows XP SP3
I honestly have a TON of appointments in Outlook and am syncing multiple calendars..lots of birthdays, appointments, etc? Do you think that could be the issue? Thanks again and sorry for the bother. |

I don't think the problem has to do with the phone in general. The point of hanging is when MPE does read the data from Outlook. Please install the beta-Version which is linked above |

Thanks FJ. I upgraded my desktop client to the beta to try to fix my area code "plus sign" issue.
On one phone with just a small number of contacts, it re-synced and seemed to keep those area codes "correct" if they were fixed on the phone whereas with the old version it would put the plus sign back. So not sure if it fixed them but it did keep the plus signs from coming back on the phone or the desktop if they were fixed.
On another phone with a lot of contacts (just under 1,000), I did not go through and try to correct all of the area codes with a plus sign on the phone. My plan was just to re-sync the phone and have outlook force an update of the phone and hopefully MPE would not write in plus signs this time.
I had confirmation turned on and strangely it chose about 90% of my contacts (not sure why it did not just choose all) but anyway that screen came up pretty fast.
However the next screen where it starts writing appeared to be frozen....in fact I gave up the first time. But after I left the screen "please wait" "Synchronising contacts with Outlook" up for quite a while (3 minutes?), it did kick in and copied them all!!!! I cannot verify that every area code issue is fixed but a quick review shows that that several that were wrong were this time correctly copied over from Outlook with no plus sign copied.
So the low volume phone shows it leaves corrected phone plus signs alone, and the high volume phone shows that it seems to have copied outlook area codes to the phone without copying plus signs.
One more thing. The photo sync is very fast over wi fi. The USB copying on the phone is very very slow for some reason and the wi-fi phone picture copy is great.
Thanks for the work on this program. I will certainly be donating again as I continue to be impressed with the work and response on this program.
Thanks,
BJB |

@fJ and BJB
After messing around inside the desktop MPE client, I UNCHECKED Create Sync Logs under the SYNC tab, CHECKED Disable Windows Shell Extension under ADVANCED 1 and CHECKED Pop up Dial Window Automatically on ADVANCED 2.
I haven't the slightest clue of what changed, but it's working perfectly now, ha! With a combination of luck and everyone's help here, I"m back on track! Thank you again everyone for all the help! Now I just have to learn what those German terms are in the Beta version . AWESOME SOFTWARE and thank you for developing it! Will donate again as well!!! Great support too! |

I spoke too soon!!!! Although the contacts that are now on the phone have the area codes without the plus signs (at least the ones I checked), which is great, there are now only about a third of the contacts on the phone as was before!!
So although the MPE confirmation list had many more listed (and they are all on outlook and the confirmation box said they were going to be copied to the phone), not all were copied to the phone.......But I did have a lot more contacts on the phone before the beta sync although the area codes had the plus signs. So somehow, contacts got deleted off the phone that were not supposed to also.
I will have to try a "sync both" tonight and see if it picks up the missing contacts.... It seems random. I can't find any pattern as to what it synced as to what it did not. But I remember specifically that it said it was going to copy a number 3X as large as what it did.

Very strange. Double checked my MPE desktop client (which should be reading the phone) and Outlook. All contacts seem to be there. Had show "all contacts" selected on phone which before this last sync would show....all contacts.
This time as I said it shows just a third of them.
I then when into custom....selected all categories, and THEN a ton of additional contacts showed up? Looks like all of them??
So to help debug, I found one of the contacts that is not listed when I choose "all contacts". Chose customized list, it was there, looked at the record and went into edit, and sure enough, it says it is part of the gmail account that MPE synced with. But it does not show when I choose all contacts or when I choose the gmail account.
Anyone else with the Nexus and using MPE see this behaviour? I cannot figure out what is unique about the records it is ignoring in "show all contacts". Very very strange... I am happy I can see (I think) all my contacts in custom view. But wonder what is strange with the records that they are are not being displayed correctly. I am sure that with my last sync, all the records showed up when I chose all records.

Didn't know whether to edit my post or add this as after hours of research have some additional information.
The contacts that only show up under custom view are NOT searchable by contacts search.
Further, the contacts that are not showing up are all contacts that do not have groups or categories assigned to them. Specifically, if I only choose the "all other contacts" for the gmail account in customize, they all show up. But none are searchable so they are not real useful.
So that explains why I only get all my contacts by checking all the boxes in customize.
Hopefully this info helps debut the beta desktop client if somehow it caused this. On the plus side all the area code plus signs seem to be fixed!
It is almost like the phone needs to re-build it's index since the last sync or else the sync did something to the category field that android does not like. However when I look at these records category does not show up.
I have 13 groups created via my MPE sync in my groups tab in contacts on the phone. When I tried for a test to assin an unassigned contact to a group while editing, only 3 groups were listed.
It looks like a few recent contacts I added were added to the phone with a group called "my contacts" via the MPE sync whereas the missing ones were not assigned a group.
Thanks again. Hope all this helps. At least we know exactly what it did.
