New to MPE and confused

Beitrag von knobtwiddler »

Have recently decided to try MPE but am confused. I've loaded software to laptop and phone (HTC Sensation) ok, established connection ok, have synchro'd calender, notes, tasks and contacts (Outlook 2003) successfully but only notes and tasks appear as an App on the phone. The black Connection page appears and the logo appears in the top bar but that's all that happens. How do I access the calender and contacts on the phone? They appeared to synchro OK. On the laptop everything looks normal.

Many thanks in advance

Hi Funegirl, I also think that MPE would be perfect for my needs if only I could find my way into the calender and contacts. I guess it's something very elementary; maybe someone could give me a clue as to what is going wrong.

The contacts and calendar appear on the phone in (with the HTC, I also have one - a Desire HD) the Calendar and people apps. Only tasks and notes have a separate 'MPE' app. If you have something other than an HTC phone then I guess whatever is supplied as an app to see the calendar and contacts.

Within each app there is usually a way to see several calendars or 'contact storage areas'. The contacts should come from the 'phone' and the calendar, on my HTC, is 'PCSync'.

Many thanks for your assistance. So basically what you are saying is that the appearance of the calender or contacts on the phone doesn't alter from their original appearances before MPE was installed. I had hoped and expected that the appearance and features phone would be similar to the PC. If thats not the case I'm disappointed as the calender on the HTC is not very clear.

Many thanks for your help,

Greetings to you too!

MPE doesn't alter the appearance of any apps, just the content. The appearance is down to the app being used for display, and these can be easily changed. For instance, I use Contapps for dialling/contacts ( see ... https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... roid&hl=en ...) and Business Calendar (see ... https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... NhbHBybyJd ... - there is also a free version with ads) because I prefer the look. Check a few Android forums for comments about various apps.

How strange... I was drinking with Steve Skinner and Betty Stogs on Saturday!
Never expected to be discussing that here in a million years!
