Outlook calendar daily repeating event with an end date

Either MPE or Galaxy S2 doesn’t recognize the end date with an Outlook calendar daily repeating event and an end date; When copied from Outlook to the Galaxy S2 calendar it keeps repeating the event past the Outlook end date in GS2. Is this an Outlook condition that MPE can't handle?

For example in Outlook I have an event that occurs each day for 7 days starting on 2/1/12. The event is coded in Outlook as a daily recurring event starting on 2/1/12 and ending on 2/7/12. But when MPE syncs with my GS2 calendar it starts the event on 2/1/12 but continues to repeat it everyday indefinitely.

MPE seems to be able to sync my phone calendar with Outlook with the daily recurring events when I enter the event in one of two ways:

1. At the initial dialog window, before xxx the all day box, I enter the first and last day of the event and then click the all day box.

2. When using the Recurring window of the event I enter the beginning date then enter the number of days the event is active. While this produces an end date, MPE seems to be able to handle the event if I use the number of days entry but not if I enter the ending date.

Its a known issue in the calendar software of the Galaxy S2. I did implement a workaround in the last version of MyPhoneExplorer Client (1.0.16). Check if you have installed this version, otherwise update via market. When you have the newest client installed then select the problematic appointments in MyPhoneExplorer->rightclick->mark as edited. Then sync

I too have the same problem with a Samsung Galaxy Slide. It doesn't show up as a problem on MPE Desktop, but does on the MPE client. As far as I can tell, I've got the latest update from the market.

Thanks rlshirey for your work around. It's temporarily addressed the problem for now.

Any idea when the final fix will be implemented?

The final fix is implemented already in the latest client v1.0.16

If that was truly the case, then I shouldn't have had the problem in the first place since I started with version 1.0.16 downloaded from the Android market on 2/28/12.

This is correct. Can you still reproduce the problem for new appointments ?

Yep. Still getting them with new repeating appointments if I put them in with a start and an end date. It actually shows correctly within the MyPhoneExplorer Desktop, but doesn't translate accurately to the phone itself (Samsung Captivate Galaxy Glide).

OK, are you able to create a similar event on the phone/tablet itself ? A working one ? If yes then:
- create a event on the phone/tablet
- create one in MyPhoneExplorer
- sync
- post the logfile

Maybe the rule pattern is somehow different
