Hmm, a very specific wish. There exists a special bit in SMS-Message to request a delivery report. Did you try the option "Request delivery report". I see no reason why this should not work also for O2

Requesting a delivery report does nothing if you’re with O2 in the UK.
I don’t know if it works with other networks in the UK as I have been with O2 since the early 90’s when it was Motorola.
I have a piece for software for my old Psion 5MX called PhoneMan Pro by Zenobyte (www.zenobyte.com).
This has a setting to insert the characters *0# at the start of SMS messages.
This causes O2 to return a receipt detailing the exact time/date and ID of the message as soon as the recipient’s phone receives the SMS.
To be honest i don't ike to add special things for a single operator which is not keeping the standard. Is this a known issue on O2 ? Did you already try to use another Servicecenter for SMS

I decided to add this as tweak.
- Download the current beta
- open %appdata%\MyPhoneExplorer\general.ini with notepad
- add this line below [Main]: AddDeliveryReportPrefix=1
- save the file
After this MPE will add the prefix as soon as you selected to get DeliveryReport

When to receipt option is selected it still shows that you have 160 characters left.
This is not the case as 3 characters have been used for the receipt prefix.
With the receipt option selected, if you use all the displayed 160 characters you will actually have rolled over into 2 SMS messages.
The tweak was not touched since the last beta. Is the flag in the general.ini still set and is the DeliveryReport-Button pressed ?

I just tested it again on the latest beta and it does work for me

I managed to get it working after a little fiddling around.
Editing the general.ini file in its default location didn’t seem to have any effect.
On my desktop PC I’d previously moved the default location of the Database folder, so as a test I also moved the Database from its default location on my laptop to:
C:\Documents and Settings\[profile name]\My Documents
…and it sprang into life and started to work placing the characters *0# at the start of each SMS message.
Strange but it's now working perfectly on my laptop also.
A quick update.
For some reason I'm now getting 2 receipts.
1 flash receipt and 1 SMS text receipt.
Just placing *0# at the front of the SMS results in a SMS text receipt being received.
xxx the delivery report button in MyPhoneExplorer causes 1 flash receipt and 1 SMS receipt to be received?
This has only just started to happen, so O2 must have changed something.
When the delivery report button in MyPhoneExplorer is clicked, does it still send the original command for a receipt as well as the *0# characters?
It appears that both methods for a delivery report are being used, perhaps as O2 have changed their system.
Can the original method be completely switched off so only *0# is used?
Can the original method be completely switched off so only *0# is used?
Will be done with the next beta
