changed phone now I cant reinstall my data

I am hoping I am just having a senior moment.

I have all my messages and data in my phone explorer BUT I changed my phone as the old one broke. Same phone just a different IMEI and now it MPE see's me as a different user and I just want to use the same data again.

is there any where else I can get answers to this questions please.

My data exists but its in the wrong profile.

seems to be determined by the IMEI number.
