I am sooooo glad I found this program to use with my new Motorola Droid RAZR. I do have a question that I'm hoping can be answered.
I live in the area where the time zone is UTC -5 hours (USA East Coast). I have my phone's time set to use "automatic" so the time on the phone is correct. When I send a SMS using the MyPhoneExplorer software the time shows as being correct as does the display on the phone messaging screen. However, when I get a reply the time stamp display in the MPE program is off by 5 hours but on the earlier side yet the phone messaging screen displays the correct time.
Example: Using the MPE program I send a text at 4:00pm. Both MPE software and phone display the text as being sent at 4:00pm. When I receive a reply the phone itself displays the reply text being received at 4:05pm yet the time stamp in the MPE screen shows it as being received at 11:05am. This throws off the flow of the conversation in the MPE messaging window.
I deselected the "automatic" time setting on the phone and changed the time setting to use a time zone of UTC +00:00 (London) and manually set the phone's time. That way everything is even across the board. That seems to have taken care of the time stamp issue for the received texts but it seems like I shouldn't have to do this. Is there an issue with the way the MPE program reads the time zone or time stamping from the phone?
Am I missing something within the settings someplace?
Thanks much for any help or input. |

When you refresh the message list from phone - are all messages moved 5 hours in the display of MPE or only incoming ones ? |

Thanks for the reply....
Only the incoming messages show as being 5 hours earlier than when I actually receive them; the outgoing messages show as the correct time. Also, the sending carrier doesn't seem to make a difference since I have received texts from people running on different carriers.
Going through the settings in the MPE program I set the time server to use the local PC clock hoping that may help but it made no difference.
Thanks |

You sir, or ma'am, are the absolute best!
Thank you SO much for your reply. Being new to the android OS I'm still learning about all the different apps that are available not to mention all the differences between android and the WM 6.5 OS.
Thanks again,
Brian

Yes John, it worked great.....
I ran some follow up testing with the app both running and shut down just to make sure I wasn't getting excited for no reason. It made all the difference in the world and has joined the ranks of my required app list if I were to ever have the need to do a hard reset back to factory settings.
Thanks much. |
