I'm reading various online forums that discuss the horrid state of synchronizing contacts between Android phones and non-Exchange Microsoft Outlook. I was strongly considering your product, until I saw a post that warned that your product syncs only 16 standard contact fields in Outlook. Further it warns that subsequent syncs will delete from Outlook any fields that do not map to Android.
Can you explain this situation? Does existing Outlook data end up being deleted? (Topic at http://androidforums.com/2448993-post101.html)
Non-standard Outlook Contact fields lost during sync
Just to be clear, I can certainly understand if non-standard fields (those that exist in Outlook but not in the phone) are not mapped or in any ways transferred to the phone. But, I can't use this software if the non-standard phones get removed/deleted during sync operations.
Can anyone shed some light here, please?

If you read more then you'll see that RazzMaTazz is about the only person who has seen this behaviour. I use MPE to sync two phones with my PC and have never, in over a year now, seen any loss of data. As far as I know, any 'non-standard' fields get ignored i.e. left as they were.

Don't worry, the warning is simply not true. Here are some comments from me: http://androidforums.com/android-applic ... droid.html
The new version 1.8.2 does support much more fields (all phonenumber fields except Private 2, anniversary)
