How do I add a new profile using the same phone?

Its not possible. The MyPhoneExplorer-Profile is linked to your phone. Besides this i see no sense to create two profiles for one phone

Here is why:
Many of my contacts have changed their phone numbers. If I delete their old numbers the SMSs I received from their old numbers will not have a name since the number is not in the phone book.
By now I have many old numbers and would like to save the entire profile as an "Old" one and start a new one with the old numbers deleted.

Just export the current contact-list as vCard-File and then press "Download entire" to load the fresh set of data from phone

What about the SMS messages my phone broke so I need to get them backonto a new phone along with contacts.

You can also export them and import back into SMS-Archive. From there you can upload to phone

Or you use the built in backup wizard in Menu-Extras
