Calendar not syncing either way & now lost connection!

Hi
1st post so be gentle

BTW; I like this software, has a lot more to it than I first thought.

My Fone is a Blade and I've hacked it so not the stock Orange build!
Thought I better mention that

Running win xp sp2 (no problem with running anything else right now)
Outlook Ver Microsoft Office XP 2002 (10.2627.2625)
MPE installed Ver 1.8.1
Blade installed Ver 1.0.10
Perfect install on phone & PC.

This is what I've done so far prior to losing connection;
Contacts working perfectly and updating both ways.
Calls logged ok in MPE
All my contacts also showing in MPE
Messages showing from phone in MPE
Drafts SMS's showing in MPE
Battery and phone info showing, voltage and Firmware etc etc..
Backup ran OK.

My problems;
When I did have a connection; The Calendar would not sync either way.
I've tried Force and sync both.
I have only one Calendar apart from an archive and checked it is correct one selected.
I also could not sync Tasks and Notes. I can do without these but Must have the Calendar.

After reading several threads on here one suggested a phone restart so I done an IT crowd special on it! (switched it off and on again)!
Now I get the following error;

Connection to phone could not be established; Phone could not be identified

Thanx in advance for any info or help to resolve.

Connection with phone now working after PC restart.
Contacts sync ok.

Calendar still will not sync.

Is there anyone with any advice on here please...

This is great software but if the Calendar feature does not work then I'll have to find a different application! :cry:

If the calendar hasn't been synced before then try to add an entry via the phone first (just a dummy entry). Then try the sync. Apparently there's an Android bug .....

Yeah I tried adding to the phones Calendar but that didn't work.
Are you saying that should kick it into life?

What I can see is when I make an edit or new Calendar entry in Outlook is MPE lists the new entries to ask approval to sync! So it looks like it is going to work but nothing shows up on the phone or in the MPE Calendar!!

I've tried Forcing sync to phone and Both ways sync. But I'm worried about wiping my Outlook Calendar blank if I try forcing sync to Outlook!
I've made a backup but of course I don't want to create a problem.

It looks like the problem might be with MPE on the PC because I can see loads of other details SMS, Contacts, All Calls, Monitor for phone status etc on MPE PC application. So this all works.
Before I even connect the phone, shouldn't the MPE Calendar on the PC install be showing my Outlook appointments!!!!!!!!!!?
Is this not looking like a PC MPE problem?

Just installed your Beta8 update 1.0.11 client.

Testing the Calendar;
I noticed the MPE Calendar update on one entry before I agreed to changes in MPE!
But all seems to be working in Calendar 100% now.
I also made edits on events created on PC and Blade and both were updated!
Many thanx for this update.
So the MPE Calendar and Outlook Calendar are fully updating as well as the Blade.
This update seems to have fixed the problem 100%

When I try to sync local calendar data it actualises it on the PC app but does not apparently on the phone.
Contacts work perfetly.

Any help?

Maybe you could try the latest beta client posted above by FJ!
That update seems to have fixed my Calendar not syncing on my Blade so this sounds (maybe) the same as your problem!

Hi again - sorry for delay.

I have created in phone 3 events in each calendar

- xzy@gmail.com
- xzy
- PCSync

Result:
None of them have been replicated to the local PC calendar.
But the local MPE application calendar shows updated event on the PC screen but none on the phone.

Observation:
- on the phone the MPE icon does not highlight even if started automatically.
- SMS/Calls/Contacs are replicated correctly.

Hey, same problem here!

I have a Samsung Galaxy Gio updated to official Android 2.3.3.

Running the 1.8.1 beta from 2011-08-02 20:43:19 and client 1.0.11 beta8.

There is no calendar syncing at all, have created appointments on both the phone and in MPE after installing the betas.
Trying both USB and Bluetooth, no difference.
Contacts, calls and texts show up as expected.
I do not have Outlook, so I only want to sync "My Calendar".

I'm pretty sure it used to work, because I have a lot of appointsments in the phone that I have not written by hand, but rather got there at my initial sync when I got the phone. It was on Android 2.2 by then, but I don't know the exact versions of MPE and client I used at that point.

In the log file, there's returncode A0 for all of the sync operations, except for "OBEX Get: telecom/cal/info.log" and "OBEX Get: telecom/cal/initsync" that get "OBEX Errorcode: D0 - Internal Server Error".

I'm not sure what parts of the log is relevant, so here comes most of it. I've removed what I believe is private data.

All has been working perfectly until I updated my Galaxy GIO to the latest Android GingerBread 2.3.3.

Since then there is no outlook calendar sync with the phone. There is sync with the desktop MyPhoneExplorer and it ask the question if I want to update an appointment but this is not updated on the phone. this is the same both ways.

I have tried the beta client as proposed in an earlier post but I also get the "OBEX Errorcode: D0 - Internal Server Error" problem. I have tried with both WiFi and USB. I have re-installed several times. I am running Win7 64bit.

Is this a compatibility problem with the GingerBread update? your assist in this will be much appreciated, especially as I have recommended this to many friends and colleagues who are also now having the same problem.

I have continued to try all ways to get the calendar sync with no success.

What I have also found is that when selecting "Download Entire", it runs, there are no errors but there is nothing, its over in a second.

Please help!

I have also found since this problem started, that there is no data shown in MPE for the memory status for Memory stick in the "Other" section, but when selecting the same in the "Files" section the data is shown??????.

Ok, I tried the 1.0.11 beta12 together with MPE 1.8.1 - nightly 2011-08-02 20:43:19.

I get a messagebox saying: "Obex protocol could not be initialized. OBEX Errorcode: D0 - Internal server error"

Previously, this appeared when trying to sync the calendar, which it still does. On this beta, however, it also comes up when synchronizing the contacts! Call log and text messages works.
I installed client 1.0.10 from Market, and contacts syncing works.

I installed the 30 day trial of MyBackup Pro. It fails to backup my calendar as well. Maybe this error message can help?

Trying to "Export Schedule to PC" in Samsung Kies application also fails, sort of. It says "There is no Schedule available for transfer" although I have many entries in my calendar.

I have sent a report of these problems through the Samsung website. Maybe they'll fix this? There was a Bluetooth problem wich prevented the client to exit gracefully on Android 2.2, and they fixed that to 2.3.3, so maybe there is hope..? ;-)

Just a note on the new beta: with the Testbutton, the GUI is becoming too "high" or long for my Gio screen (320x480): when waiting for connection, the topmost status message about Waiting and closing in 15 mins (in Swedish) spills over to two lines of text, causing the Exit and Settings buttons to almost disappear at the bottom... No worries, they still can be touched, but the text can not be read.

Who-ho, BIG news!!! It is working! :-)

Due to a few random total lockups and some strangely missed calls eventhough I was beside the phone, I decided to do a factory reset.

So after backing stuff up, I went ahead and made that reset.

While restoring this and that, I thought I had at least give MPE another try.

And to my big surprise, synching the calendar works now!!! Great!

MyBackup and "Export Schedule to PC" in Kies also works.

Well, what happened, then? To my knowledge, I didn't do anything strange earlier, when I upgraded to Android 2.3.3..? It was made through the official Samsung Kies procedure. And after that, sync no longer worked...

You shouldn't have to do a total reset after an upgrade, right? But in this case it was apparently necessary?!?!

Now, I feel bad about putting FJ through unnecessary work... :-(

Sorry! But to my defense is the fact that several others have the same problem, so it wasn't all my bad...
