Transfer SMS files

I have been using MPE with a T-Mobil G1 as one user, and now I have a new HTC Inspire thats loaded in MPE as another user and have no problem with either....works great

What I would like to know if it's possible to transfer the SMS messages stored in the G1 user to the Inspire. Basically I want to transfer the SMS in messages the old phone, to the new phone....

Any suggestions or help is deeply appreciated.

Hi Ray,

- Start MPE without connected device
- choose menu File > User > [old device] (old data should be shown now)
- choose menu Extras > Create backup (MPE will try to connect, ignore the message saying there's no device)
- MPE asks to do an Offline-Backup. Do that and remember the path for backup file.
- Choose menu File > User > [new device]
- Connect new device
- Choose menu Extras > Restor Backup and select backup file from above step.

Thats the risky way, backup-wizzard is more secure and userfriendly (and includes also SMS Archive)
