1.8.1 promised Android BT sync but so far I've not been able to get it working and it's caused me a few lost hours.
Sync over WLAN still works fine though at least.
Phone: LG Optimus One P500
Laptop: Asus G51J-A1
OS: Win 7 x64
Ports detected on my lappy (phone name is "P500") - these copied from the drop-down box from the MPE settings page.
COM7 & COM8 are to do with a Huawei mobile broadband modem.
COM9 & COM12 are Bluetooth-Modem ports from two other phones (Nokia E65 and E75)
COM13 "P500" Bluetooth-Modem
COM14 LGE Bluetooth TransPort
COM22 "P500" Bluetooth-Port
COM15 LGE Virtual Modem
COM13 works, the others give a "Phone could not be identified" error. However when trying to connect or sync over COM13 - MPE always asks to create a new connection, and when it's done and appears connected, I start the multi-sync and get errors :
"Could not initialise OBEX protocol
OBEX error: ERROR"
The "Sync phonebook (SIM)", "Refresh Call Lists", and "Refresh Message folders" get a green tick but the rest (sync contacts, organiser, notes, clock, photos) get a red cross and the OBEX error message.
My device is paired, discoverable, etc. MPE client is running etc. I've read the FAQ on it.
Also, a couple of other things I believe I've only experienced since update to 1.8.1:
- The "autodetect" setting as the connection type just plain doesn't work. It searches Wifi, then USB, then stops with a "No device connected via USB error" and doesn't even try BT. Even with the phone plugged in via USB and not tethered and without SD mounting - MPE still can't detect it.
- Internet passthrough when tethered via USB no longer works on my laptop (GPRS data still works on the phone). This is by far the biggest frustration.
- Initial sync over Wifi after updating to 1.8.1 duplicated some, but not all, appointments on the calendar.
If I need to clear out everything - uninstall MPE, delete ports and drivers, and start over - can you link to a howto to make sure the drivers/ports/settings are all cleared before I start over again.
MPE 1.8.1 update = problems. No droid-BT sync for a start.
COM13 works ? This is a Modem-Entry so it must be hosted from phone - and not from MyPhoneExplorer.
Please first run the Client, then enable Bluetooth on phone. And if you did this - not before - pair your phone (delete the pairing if it does exist already). MyPhoneExplorer Client hosts its own Bluetooth-Port. If it still does not work then please post the logfile

I have the same issues with my LG P500 and bluetooth. After I reinitialized pairing with PC as FJ described, a new port appeared "Standard Serial over Bluetooth link" (COM25). But MyPhoneExplorer gives same error with this port: "Connection to phone could not be established: Phone could not be identified". Is this the port that should be used ?
