Google Tasks Sync

Just a quick post to say that google have release Gmail Task which would seems ideal if it could sync with PhoneMyExlorer!

Currenty there exists no API to access the Task-List for Softwaredevelopers. If the APIwill be offered then i will implement it also in MyPhoneExplorer

Hi FJ,

there are as well Tasks in Google Calendar (see http://gmailblog.blogspot.com/2009/05/t ... r-too.html). Once you may want to implement a synchronization for those as well.
I also use MPE for a long time nearly every day and I am very satisfied. Thank you FJ!

Thanks for this information. The tasklist is offered only in the english layout - in the german layout the "Tasklist" is missing - interesting.

I checked the queries, it seems that the tasklist is still not included into the API for accessing the calendar. but i think its only a question of time - the API will come and if its avaiable then i'll add also support in MPE.

I was just looking for this feature when i found this topic. It would be so great, if you could implement it soon.

btw: google is often releasing new features first in the american-english UI, for that reason i use it also..

Damn it. When i heard about Google Tasks I was almost sure you can make MyPhoneExplorer manage them... So shame...

Actually, Tasks calendar is not real calendar (look at calendar settings: you can not set notifications for tasks, you can not share 'em, you can not ven delete them).
So how maybe there is way or google is going to change it? and make the tasks more calendar like?
What about synch. tasks with oultook?

There is currently no API for tasks so you also connat Sync it with Outlook. A little bit more patience please. Its only a question of time when there will be an API for it.

I am wondering what has become of this, as the API has been available for some time now.

This would really be so unbelievably helpful.

Or alternatively release an MPE Android calendar app with integrated tasks...it would be the best thing out there. (Can't believe how lame most of the apps are)

Who wants to sync a Google-Phone with Google throught MyPhoneExplorer ? Androids can itself sync with Google - probably the main reason why Google pushed million dollars into Android

I do! Because then it will also sync with Outlook. At the moment I have Outlook syncs with MPE Tasks, and Android Tasks syncs with Google Tasks. And neither the twain shall meet!!

I was searching the forum for a while, until I found out MPE doen't synch with google task.
I think it actually would make a lot of sense. Not to synch google with google (I know Android can do that), but to be able to use for instance apps like "task" or "GTasks" to manage the tasks on the phone.
Having about 40 tasks, the MPE app isn't quite as comfortable as others are. But I want to have the tasks in the MPE software on the laptop.

What do you think? Is there a work-around or would you think again about integrating Google-Task synch into MPE?
Or maybe a synch to one of the above-mentioned apps?

I actually wonder, why there is no official google app for the tasks as there is Google-Keep for the notes.

I would vote for that feature as well.
I am not synching at all to google cloud, this is disabled in my phone.
I am synching the local device-calendar to MPE only.
On the device, i use Business Calendar, which offeres a great GUI, and there is also the Business Tasks App available which i would like to use... with great features and widgets. But most of the editing i would like to do with MPE.

So it would be a great feature, if i could select, if MPE should synch the tasks to the MPE-Task-app, or if it should synch to the Google-Android-Task-section of the device.
