Hi,
I have been quite an old user of MPE, starting with my SE phone and now with Android HTC phone. I like MPE very much and thanks for extending the software for Android phones.
These days, am facing a different problem, wherein, I am not able to use MPE at my Office!! If I check the MPE android client, it shows a DHCP IP address in the same subnet as that of my laptop; both connected to same SSID Wi-Fi access point (AP)
However, we have multiple AP's in my office, but all with the same SSID. Hence, I dont know if the phone is hooked onto one AP and my laptop to a different one, but both would have the same SSID.
In this scenario, if I try to connect in laptop MPE: (a) MPE crashes when trying with the Wi-Fi connection mode in settings! Tried couple of times and the crashing is consistent (b) if I have select the mode as Wi-Fi in settings, MPE throws an error saying "could not connect" (note: I am trying to connect only through wifi, turning off bluetooth & disconnected from USB)
Plz resolve the issue. I want to use MPE in my office where I spend most of my time in a day (of course, this would not require Proxy as both laptop & phone are in local LAN)
Thanks in advance.

Cannot connect using Office LAN
You could find out the MAC adress of your phones AP by running Wifi Monitor
http://www.androidzoom.com/android_appl ... _tacu.html
And on your PC (?) you can run arp -a in a command window to find stuff out...
EDIT: Ehm ... this is to find out whether your computer and phone is on the same AP ... after that I don't know what the problem is

Cannot connect using Office LAN
After a day or two of getting this error, now I am not getting this error! One change I could notice is that now the phone IP address is changed; as it is assigned through DHCP.FJ hat geschrieben:MyPhoneExplorer crashes as soon as you want to connect throught Wifi -> your Firewall kills maybe MyPhoneExplorer. Did you try to preselect the IP in the settings (works since v1.8.1) ?
I am still not sure if office network firewalls play a role in this, but the connection is not really consistent. After a few minutes, MPE in laptop gets disconnected, but if I check in phone, it says it is connected! Not sure why the connection is not consistent.
