I frequently get the message "Connection to phone not possible". I sync my calendar of my Android phone with Outlook 2003. I usually get this error after sucessfully connecting and after the "confirmation for sync" window (the window you get after pressing F2.
While it is quite annoying that for some reason it suddenly can't sync anymore, it is even more annoying that this error is obviously shown for every appointment that was going to be made, with about 20-30 seconds in between. And there is no way to cancel this! So it takes minutes requiring me to press the OK button each time when this happens. The only way to get rid of it is by killing the process.
Please either auto abort synchronization in this case or provide a proper Cancel button. |

OK, I'll try this.
Another connection problem I faced today: I got an error that the 'connection was forcely rejected' or something like that (the phone was not in stdby). Usually disconnecting/connecting helps when experiencing connection problems. This time it didn't. Additionally stopping and starting MPE didn't help either. What did help is killing ADB.EXE on the PC (obviously some helper app for MPE). |

I am having issues with this as well. I have 1500 contacts, and it gets to 'I' before the problems start happening. I do have Avoid Stand-by checked, but it still happens. |

@vletoh: You are right, MyPhoneExplorer uses adb.exe for the USB-Connection. This file is taken from the Android-SDK and its basicly a standalone console application
@jtklepp: I need more details |

So I'm about 75% through (after starting this morning) syncing my 1,800 contacts.
I'm now at a point where after every new entry I get the message: "Connection to phone not possible"
It is taking about 20 seconds to create new entries. I will send along my log file once this is done...
Any help with these known issues with the Galaxy series would be appreciated.
Thanks
EDIT: I also have "avoid stand-by" selected
EDIT2: So it turns out that every time I got the "connection to phone not possible" note that meant that the contact did not get created on the phone. A lot of time wasted on my end. I had to force close MPE on my computer so I don't have a log file to share. I am re-syncing now, and will share the results.
EDIT3: After the force close, I tried again but immediately each entry needed about 20 sections to create. I force closed again. I downloaded and installed the beta MPE client (1.011 beta8), and changed the default setting for "Contact accounts to sync" to just the "Phone" account, and not Google. When I initiated the sync, contacts started adding very quickly--about 2 per second. After 50 or so entries, the process slowed down and is now back to about 20 seconds per entry. Please note that I am only one-way syncing from Outlook to Phone. By looking at my contacts on the Phone screen of MPE, it looks like 1,000 of 1,800 have been loaded, but there are 800 with the "sun" symbol next to them. At the rate of 20 seconds per contact, the sync should complete in 250 minutes, ~4 hours. |

I started new topic with what I think might be a workaround for Galaxy users with a lot of contacts.
