Outlook 2003 and MPE
Hi, I have the same demands/wishes.
The sync between Outlook 2003 and MPE / SE Xperia x8 goes fine for Contacts and Calendar, but there's no Notes (nor Tasks) sync possible.
But within android 1.6 and 2.1 there is a notes application originally installed. Isn't there a possibility to sync to this app ?
Or is there some free app for Android 2.1, compatible with Xperia x8, that allows us to do all the stuff in 1 time. Calendar, notes and task management with syncing between Outlook 2003 and the smartphone?
regards

... how about adroid2.2's Memos? doesn't that count as a native notes app?
i know, i know, i've read many of your posts... too bad about the missing native task and memo app on android.
But if you found a solution, and finally made the outlook<->android sync work for notes and tasks, i'm sure you would be making sooooo much money... many apps out there are worth less than half of yours (as it is today) and they have the courage to charge usd 20... and they even manage to sell it!
I'd rather pay that money to you
actually after all the work you put into it, i really suggest you start charging a bit for it.
cheers and thanks for one of the best (really!) apps around!!

Hi,
hard to tell (not a power user, sorry!) but for the following 2 reasons i tend to believe that it is Android native:
1. cannot find this app in the Samsung App store
2. in settings>manage applications, the Memo app does not show up under "third party", but under "all" and the "permissions" section says it can access the google account.
Of course i could be wrong, sorry i can't help more... anyone else?
Thanks again!

The problem with "Android native" is that many providers have chosen to implement their own version which does not always include the Andoid native apps. T-Mobile is a good example of this. On MyTouch 4G, there is no native notes or memo app. T-Mo also disabled HTC sync from their phones "in order to improve the user experience". Quote is from HTC support in response to my inquiry.
The alternative approach to implement Notes/Memo syncing in MPE would be to choose several of the most popular Android notes apps (such as Evernote, for example) and be able to select from within MPE which Android note/memo app you wanted to sync with Outlook. Depending on which is chosen, it would apply the appropriate code to sync with that app.
I know this would involve more programming to account for the variables, but as it is I have to use two different apps to sync to Outlook, MPE & Nitro Notes (which apparently is no longer supported and very hard to find). I would love to be able to do it with one...and to direct my clients to MPE for a complete Outlook sync solution.
