USB connection problems: WIN7 32-bit and HTC Wilfire
USB connection problems: WIN7 32-bit and HTC Wilfire
Hi
First: I have a laptop with WinXP and wireless connection on same router as HTC. There I can sync contact, SMS etc. But the screenshot function is just a blank picture.
Therefore I am trying on my desktop PC with only USB for the screenshot function.
I keep getting this error message:
SocketError: 10061 - Connection is forcefully rejected
USB debugging is on.
Client is startet on the HTC. (dont know if that is nessesary?)
Here is logfil in debug mode:

Hi FJ
Thanks for quick reply, eventhough I had removed HTC sync from msconfig/startup, adb.exe was still running?? Dont know why
I have now completely removed HTC sync (never use it anyway).
And now that error is gone, but it still states that my device is offline. I simply cant figure this out.
Adb.exe is starting now, when I hit the F1 for connecting, but still the same error.

I am not sure what you mean by "modes"FJ hat geschrieben:Hmm, difficult. Maybe you are sing the wrong connection-mode. Which modes you did try already ?
On the XP laptop it works OK with USB and WL at the same time. The client on HTC writes connected on both. The ony thing I cant get working on that one is screenshot. Its just a blank page. My desktop Win7 PC has not WL connection but there I connect only with USB cable provided by HTC. And then I get the mentioned error. I have uninstalled HTC sync, but left the drivers intact, version 2.0.7.1. tried different USB sockets.
I am most gratefull that you take your time to help me.
I dont think its MPE thats has the fault but the phone/PC. When I try to connect with the Android SDK app. it also states the my phone is offline.
It detects it but say its offline.
Thanks!
Its not turned off, and I choose "Charge only". It still finds the SDcard and gives me a USB drive. I have tried to change the drive, to a drive letter at the end of the alphabet without any change.FJ hat geschrieben:When you "plug" the phone you should get normally a menu which gives the option "HTC Sync", "Charge only" or "Mass storage", maybe you turned of this menu and now it connects by default as mass storage ?
I even tried to disconnect/eject the SD card in explorer. Same fault.
Thanx

That is strange! You choose "charge only" and you got a new USB drive.
So far, so good, but i think you cannot access this drive in this mode, can you?
Once again a checklist for USB:
- HTC-Syn AND drivers are still installed on your PC
- you removed HTC-Sync from msconfig/startup
- HTC-Sync is NOT running
- you enabled USB debugging on "menu > settings > applications > development
- you've started the mpeclient on your wildfire
- you plug in the USB cable and choose "charge only"
- you start MyPhoneExplorer on your PC
- you've checked the "Connect via..." settings under "File > Settings > Connection" (should be Autodetect or USB cable)
- you've pressed F1 (or File > Connect)
Still no connection?
For WLAN:
- Wildfire's WLAN and PC are connected to the same router/subnet
- mpeclient is started on Wildfire
- you start MyPhoneExplorer on your PC
- you've checked the "Connect via..." settings under "File > Settings > Connection" (should be Autodetect or WiFi)
- if you have a personal firewall, traffic for MyPhoneExplorer is allowed (TCP outgoing port 5210, UDP outgoing port 5211, UDP incoming port 5212)
- your router does not block UDB traffic
- you've pressed F1 (or File > Connect)
Still no connection?
Hope we can figure out your problem.
best regards...

Hi

Yes I can.
I have run to your checklist for USB (I do not have wireless on this PC as mentioned)
I can set a checkmark by all the items.
HOWEVER
I tried all my USB connections on the PC (8 pcs. I think)
And suddenly it connected.
The HTC and of course the cables a brand new and orginal. I was also using a 1.8mtr extender cable and that didnt work, so I figured that I should try without any extension. Jackpot..
The I tried the one with ext. cable, and it didnt work??
Back again to the one which worked. Now that didnt work??
I think the issue is the HW connection itself for some reason. I have never had any troubles, with other devices connected with USB.
I will look for a new HTC cable etc, and hopefully then it will work 100%
Thanks to all of you, who took the time trying to help me.
