MPE does not connect my HTC Wildfire

Hi,
I am trying to add my htc Wildfire to MPE. MPE states that it can not connect as there is no USB device connected. I have tried with the htc connected as a disc unit as well as for charging only. Can you help

- Did you install the USB drivers that came with HTC Sync? Otherwise you need to install the ADB drivers from the Android SDK
- Did you install the mpeclient.apk from the market? You can download and install the client also from www.fjsoft.at/mpeclient.apk from your phone.
- Did you enable USB debugging in "Settings > Applications > Development"?
