By mistake i click download entire in contacts

To download new software to my phone i took backup of all my contacts. Then after completion of software installation, i have opened phone explorer and i clicked, download entire then all my contacts disappeared hoe do i get them back?????

Why did the contacts disappear ? is your phonebook empty ?
