"initiating sync" FAIL

Hi i have used MPE software before but it was a while ago. I am now having a problem when i try to sync phone contacts and sms messages.

It recognises that i have my phone connected, and i am able to create a backup of the contacts and messages on the phone, but when i try to sync everything it gets stuck saying "initiating sync"

Please help!

p.s. i have tried taking out the battery for a few mins and trying it again, same thing happens

Go to Menu-File-Settings-Sync, switch to IRMC-SYNC and try it again.

Please post the logfile after the problem. If MPE does "hang" then use Start-Run-%appdata%\MyPhoneExplorer\Debug.txt-OK

Hi thanks so much for your quick responses, i have reinstalled the software and restarted my computer and now everything seems to be working fine on it.

I did have another question, which is unrelated, hope its ok to post it here. I just wondered if there is any way that i can view a backup that i have made without having the phone connected to my pc?

You can import the backupfile into contacts, organizer and sms-archive (rightclick-Import/Export...)

When I right click on the backup file I only get the option to open no option to import/export. Also if i try and right click on contacts i don't get any options and if I right click on phone or sim contacts i only get the option to either sync or add new contact

Do i need separate software to do this?

Rightclick in the list of contacts, not on the panel. Sim-Contacts cannot be imported.
