Hi,
I am planning to get myself a new phone (from a K700i to a W995 or Aino...?) and I was wondering if it would be possible to export old sms from Archive Computer to the new phone without using the Backup file? If yes, how? Is it possible to choose from several different phones to export to?
Thank you so much in advance if someone is able and willing to help
Its possible, take a look at the context-menus and import/export the data as *.sms-File.
If you connect your new phone you'll have a fresh SMS-Archive. Import the *.sms-Files there and from the Archive you can upload the messages to phone. please note: The timestamp of sent messages will be lost.
Ok, thanks again for a really fast reply! It's wonderful that it could work, but a bit of a loss that the time stamp disappears. Would this be different if I made another backup?
Thanks you!
Ok, thank you, but besides that they would be "the same" with phone numbers from who they are from etc. ? I guess the only way to keep the sms with time stamp would be to try to save them on the SIM card then?
Thank you very much again!
Hello!
I am a happy user of MPE, I have just switched from K800i to C902. I did the export thing, I do not mind that timestamp got lost but... the names and archivefolders are also gone - so... now I have no way of knowing who sent those thousands of messages... is there a solution?
Kind regards, Sabine
On Export/Import the timestamps get not lost (if they were shown in MPE).
Switch to your old C902-Profile, export the messages as *.sms-File. Switch to the K800i-Profile and import them into SMS-Archive.
Hello
The problem is (partly) solved, apparently I needed to restart MPE twice and now the names and numbers are there
Now only to figure out if I have to hand make and distribute all the folders again... or if they will appear
The folders are normally also transfered if you use
Extras-Create backup (in C902 profile). Select only "SMS-Archive" and then restore the backup on your new profile
