Question about calendar

Beitrag von Flux »

Sorry, but have to ask - when I import (from an ics) file future appointments change based on summertime - is this correct?

Let me try and explain:

If I go in to the Windows XP time setting, there is a tab called "Time Zone", and there is a setting called "Automatically adjust clock for daylight saving changes" - its a check box (i assume there is something similar in other windows)

Now if i import a calendar files (ics) into MPE that affects the time of a future appointment.

For instance,

12-may-2010 10:15

If "automatically adjust clock" is set in Windows then this appointment is displayed by MPE as 11:15 if "automatically adjust clock" is NOT set then this appointment is displayed as 10:15

Now, today, we are not on daylight saving time but by may 12th we will have daylight saving - so far so good...

BUT my appointment won't change its time!

My appointment will STILL be at 10:15 not 11:15

Will something magically change along the way or will I be an hour late for my appointment?

For the file-import MPE calculates the start based on the system-settings. A event in June will be calculated in daylightsaving time and a event in december will be calculated in standard-time.

Send me the ical-File zipped via email and tell me your region-settings in Windows

*sigh* its gmt+1 - but I don't want to share the calendar, and don't have the energy to try and edit it in notepad.
I guess the fault is in the ical file format - my appointment is at 10 - regardless of zone or daylight saving etc.
But I'll edit them manually i guess. Thankfully there aren't that many.
