Sent Sms
Hi. I am trying to backup sms from my phone to my computer. I am using the k790a. after I move the sms, the messages from my inbox have correct time stamp, but the sms from the sent folder are not saved according to the correct time. I have to manually correct time on each message before I move them to my computer. any suggestions or fixes ? thanks.
MPE is such great software, offering so many possibilities...Sent SMS - Time info
It's not possible to get the "send date and time" from phone if the message wasn't send directly from MyPhoneExplorer. Of course, the timestamp of sending is shown in the phone, but there's no way of getting that out from it - its a unsolvable glitch. At incoming SMS there are timestamps from SMS Service-Center, at outgoing SMS this timestamps are missing.
This is also a problem with other phones and software and isn't a problem of this software.
But if you want to edit the correct sending date and time, just rightclick on that message, select "properties" and then click on "No Indication" to edit the sending date and time.
Otherwise MyPhoneExplorer will read the timestamp of copying the message to the Archive-Folder to set this.
Since version 1.6.0 it's possible to edit / correct SMS date and time by doubleclick it in listview.
Unfortunately, I have to archive all my sent and received messages. I have to create comprehensive data base with all subjects of conversations (SMS).
I would be most happy if I could use my beloved Sony Ericsson and MPE for that. But I have to stick to Nokia because Nokia doesn't have problems with sent date stamp. Are you sure this can not be fixed? Maybe some other Sony Ericsson model?
What a pity...
Send sms time stamp
This is a great program!!FJ hat geschrieben:I searched long time and i can say for sure that its not possible - with no SonyEricsson Model.
But after updating firmware there is no real time stamp of
outgoing SMS
It is sad!!!
I have lost all time stamps, but it is funny though, that
I could restore some items with t/s by SE PC suite

Well, is that still true? I'm not to be stepping into Your shoes in no way;
Just wondering, cause - we've had similar conversation (but back then OCR was mentioned), yet using just mouse on "phone keypad" (or similar automation key-to-window-sending script
) one is able to navigate to send storage, input R-click, 2-for status...voila, you get date×tamp
at last on K810i.
I know, it's long, it's insane, it would block computer for long time, maybe even causing phone to hang occasionally
...BUT wouldn't be that a great start ?
Provided method has only drawback (as for me-wouldn't mind having it fill dates even for half an hour...as it takes as long while im doing it myself), there is no way to determine, which particularly previously read sms should that be stored onto - as, strangely, even when all sms have no date stamp they aren't always sorted, or displayed same order in MPE, as in phone...
Still i'm not arguing it might be difficult & ugly & unpleasant solution, even as for temporary fix. Maybe somehow some when SE will release patch, or some other miracle will happen:P

It's been a while since I have completely switched to Nokia because of sent message time stamp problem. I didn't visit this forum since. Now I took a glipse at new posts and noticed MPE is supporting a lot of Android phones of other makes too. So here come questions that matters a lot to me related to my usage of the phone.
1. Do you have the same problem with "sent messages time stamp" on other phones?
2. In your list of compatible phones with MPE, are all those phones 100% compatible with all MPE features?
3. Do you have a list of phones that can not support all MPE features (so I shall not consider them for purchase)?
4. Do you have some recommendations about most MPE friendly phone? (I remember, once you were saying Symbian does not work best with the MPE)
Hope you will manage to answer all four questions.
Thanks

1) The timestamp-problem does not exist on Android-based phones
2) Not all features work with Android-phones. Things which do NOT work: Tasks, notes, Control phone, Synchronize clock via internet
3) Android-based phones are all supported in the same way (but currently they are not all tested at the moment)
4) if you want a smart-phone then you should prefer Android-based phones. Its not everything perfect with this phones, but i have much more possibilities to fix problems on Android
