What version of the MPE-Addin is installed in your Thunderbird profile?
Are you using standard Thunderbird or a portable version?
Do you see error messages in Thunderbirds Javascript Error Console?

Open a command window, go to your thunderbird program directory and execute

thunderbird -mpe list-abooks=c:\abooks.txt

The MPE-addin version is 1.0.21 .
I use standard Thunderbird.
Here 's the message of error console :

When I execute "thunderbird -mpe list-abooks=c:\abooks.txt", MPE is launched as usually (I still have the same error).

Does the last command create the file c:\abooks.txt?

Is your username really: ReleaseEngineer.MACROVISION ?
Seems that there is a bug in the registry.

Move your Databasefolder of MPE to another location (Menu-File-Settings-Adnanced 2)

I learn a lot : I ldidn't know the error console in Thunderbird.

@Thierry. It works for you but i'm still searching the reason. Does the folder "C:\Documents and Settings\ReleaseEngineer.MACROVISION\Application Data\MyPhoneExplorer\" exist on your PC ?

No this folder doen't exist : I'm under Vista (and I think that this folder exists on XP).

The plugin is for Thunderbird and NOT for Firefox. Choos rightclick->Save as in Firefox and then install the plugin in Thunderbird.

I had not much time to reply this afternoon.
Now I can precise my first answer : I would say that the folder "C:\Documents and Settings\" exists under XP and not in Vista.

Yes, I have installed MPE and it was working normally but I had this problem since 1 or 2 months : perhaps when I have updated Thunderbird (but it was before thunderbird 3).
I decided to ask for this problem since the extension Lightning works with Thunderbird 3.

Sorry, as suggested, I saved before and installed from TB ...it's OK !
It gives the error if we install directly after clicked on link.

Heute habe ich voller Freude festgestellt, das Lightning endlich auch für Thunderbird 3.0 herausgekommen ist. Jetzt habe ich Lightning und die neuste Thunderbird- Version installiert.

Dann versucht, das Add on über "https://www.pueschel.net/mpe/mpe-addin.xpi " zu installieren, es sagt mir aber leider:
MyPhoneExplorer 1.0.31 konnte nicht installiert werden, da es nicht kompatibel mit Firefox 3.5.7 ist.

Haben andere auch das Problem, oder mache ich einfach nur etwas falsch?

Nochmal für alle:
Das Addon ist für Thunderbird und NICHT für Firefox. Dementsprechend darf man es auch nicht in Firefox öffnen - man muss es über "Ziel speichern" auf dem rechner speichern und dann in Thunderbird installieren.
