Crashed computer - restore sms?

my computer crashed a while ago but the files on the hard drive are intact, thus even all of the my phone explorer files.
is it possible to somehow export or save the sms to text files without doing it through the program? or can i open the old ones if i install the program on my new computer and save all the old program files too on the new computer. or how do i do this, i'm a bit lost. and very sad to have lost all the saved messages.

You can find the Datafolder in:
XP -> C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application data\MyPhoneExplorer
Vista -> C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\MyPhoneExplorer

- Backup this folder
- install MyPhoneExplorer on the new system
- overwrite the MPE-Datafolder of the new system with the saved folder from your old system
