k800i won`t power up

had white screen --would`t turn off--removed battery,reinserted battery--now phone won`t do anything (dead) but it does flash a small red light in the infra-red window(flashes 6 times every time on button is pressed) any suggestions would be very appreaciated

Try to do a firmware-upgrade with the SonyEricsson Updateservice.

I had the same issue with my k800. If you couldn't fix it till now, i will search for the howto - which fixed the problem in my case - at weekend.

Sorry, it took me more time, but here is the link to the instructions
However, it is in german, so i will translate it for you:

1) Google for "setool2lite" and download it
2) Remove battery and SIM of the phone
3) Start setool2lite and click "Unlock/Repair"
4) Put the cabel in the phone
5) Press and hold the keys "2" and "5" on the phone
6) Put in the battery
The program will work a short time and repairs the damaged EEPROM.


Note these things:
You will lose your warranty!
There is absolutly no warranty that it works or that it will not damage your phone!
(Although it worked for me)
