Problem uploading a certificate

Beitrag von Gromit »

I need to install an SSL certificate on my phone so that I can access my own server via SSL, and this requires me to upload the certificate file to the phone (a C905 but I had the same problem with my K800).

If I use MPE to upload the file, I just end up with the file on the phone's file system, and can't do anything much with it. I can't install the certificate.

But if I use the 'Send To'/'Bluetooth device' option on Windows and don't use MPE at all, as soon as the file has been transferred to the phone the phone will prompt to install the certificate. The file doesn't then end up on the phone's file system, but the certificate is installed and appears in the list of installed certificates.

Is this something MPE could support? Or is there some kind of special treatment that the Windows file transfer option is doing that MPE can't replicate?

I think you uploaded the file to a specified folder. Try another way: Rightclick the certificate-file in windows-explorer and choose "Upload to phone" from contextmenu. MPE will upload the file then into the root-folder and not into a specified folder.
