Too many SMS?
I'm just cleaning out my phone which has 4400 SMS in the in-box and MPE doesn't seem to be able to sync that many. It doesn't produce an error or comment but I only see a random selection of the 4400, usually a different selection and number each time.
Thanks
Thanks
I have a k850i. I've just tried the stable connection (after restarting the 'phone) but I get the same problem. When displaying the progress of the sync it stops before it gets to all the messages (e.g. 2920/2928) and moves to syncing messages from the SIM.FJ hat geschrieben:Which phone do you use ?
MyPhoneExplorer is tested up to 8000 SMS from the phone. Mostly the phone itself makes problems with a high amount of messages. Restart your phone and try it with the setting "stable connection".
I got the logfile and i saw that MyPhoneExplorer saved 2788 messages in its database (the diffrence between 2928 and 2788 has the reason of some multi-sms - this is normal). Are you sure that you see only 70 messages in MPE ? Did you click throught all sms-folders (inbox,sent,...) ?
PS.: If it works then you should go back to normal connection (not stable connection) cause its much faster.

I have 2715 in sent and 69 in inbox but there are more in the inbox on my phone. I can see messages on my phone in inbox that I don't see in the inbox in MPE.FJ hat geschrieben:I got the logfile and i saw that MyPhoneExplorer saved 2788 messages in its database (the diffrence between 2928 and 2788 has the reason of some multi-sms - this is normal). I'm going to delete the ones I can see in sent and see if that changes anything...
I was trying to find that out so that I could tell you; unfortunately I can't work out how to get the number. Can you suggest?FJ hat geschrieben:How many messages you have in the inbox of the phone ?
Are they maybe located on the memorystick and not in the phone ?
Your second point is interesting, I removed the memory card and almost all my SMSs disappeared! It seems they're set to save to my memory card and not the phone's memory. That explains a lot! However, MPE still shows 69 messages in its Inbox and my phone shows four messages in its Inbox. There are no common messages between the two but some of the messages in MPE are ones from the memory card!
All very strange...
If you want to give up on this then feel free, it's no big problem but I thought you may be curious!
It seems that the phone does list only one storage. I have no K850i - can you search if there is an option to switch the used memory ?
Basicly MPE lists all messages and then it shows the data which were sent from phone. not more not less - i think that the phone does not list the sms from the card throught the softwareinterface. But i am wondering cause i think you are the first person who reports this.
You deleted your sent messages so it would be easy for you to read also the logfiles. Everytime when you see that the string begins with [RX]: +CMGL: then its a sms.

I think the phone shows the combination of messages on the memory card (if inserted) and on the phone. I've removed the memory card and deleted the four messages from the phone's Inbox. That means there are no messages in the phone's memory. The Manage Messages function on the phone confirms this with no messages shown in any folder. However. when I click "refresh view" in MPE it still shows the same 69 messages (some of which I think are on the memory card which is out of the phone).FJ hat geschrieben:It seems that the phone does list only one storage. ???
Hmm - strange thing. The only thing which i can confirm is that MPE did successfully display the data which came from the phone. But this is already everything which can be done with external software.
Did you also restart the phone (with taking out the battery) ?
The last chance would be a firmware-upgrade but then the messages are lost.
