c905 Vista obex error problem solved

I have been coming here for a week now since I upgraded my PC to Vista. My beloved MPE stopped working - it could see my c905 through 'discover phone' but whenever I tried to sync or even conect I got a 'cannot connect' or 'obex error:' message.

I had been using a Logitech BT dongle with an MX5000 setup. As it happened I had a spare mini-dongle with the notorious Bluesoleil software. I took out the Logitech dongle and installed the Bluesoleil one.

My phone has just successfully synced up for the first time in a week.

The moral: if you're getting obex errors on Vista, try changing your BT dongle.

It has nothing to do with the BT-Dongle. It would be enought to make a new pairing to your phone and then to activate the serial port service.

I wish that were true. I paired the phone five times and activated the serial port over and over again. As I said, MPE found the phone ok, but when asked to sync could not connect or identify it. Clearly since there is nothing wrong with MPE it must have been the BT stack.
