MFE Backup Restore Problem

i have a w580i phone., created a backup using MFE and then updated the phone via SE website then tried to restore the backup and guess what, MyPhoneExplorer Freezes. This is the first that i restored a backup so i cant tell whats the problem, pls help

How many messages you had in the SMS-Archive ? if there are many messages then MPE needs some time to load them, i don't think it freezes MPE is just on decoding the file

Archived? does that mean those messages saved in the PC or those that are saved in the backup?

I mean how many messages are in the archive-file. I don't need the exact value - just that i know from which dimensions we are talking. Did you already try to wait some minutes after opening the file ?

there are about 14k and yes i waited for like an hour and MPE resumes but did not store the backup. i tried it several times and the same thing happens, MPE resumes from the "busy" state not restoring the backup file.

For 14.000 messages its clear that MPE needs some time for importing. but one hour is too much. I did some optimations, but i don't know if they help. Please try it with the current beta again. Just to verify: MyPhoneExplorer freezes after selecting the file and before the Backupwindow gets showed - is that right ?

yup, thats exactly the problem..however i managed to find a solution, i installed MPE on diff computers and voila, the restore window showed up.

OK, would you please help me to fix the problem ? If yes then please register at the forum. i will create then a beta for you which logs the time for every action so i can see which process brings MPE down.

OK, very good. Please download and install the current beta

Then try to open the problematic backupfile. If MyphoneExplorer hangs then kill the process after 5 minutes. Then go to Start-Run-%appdata%\MyPhoneExplorer-OK. You should find there a file calld "Debug.txt". Please send me this file via email.
