Am I right in thinking that MPE will not work with this phone? If so is this a temporary thing or will it never work?

Hi

You are right. X1 is a windows mobile phone. MPE will never support this OS.

Well I am finally getting rid of my C902 and was going to go for this, but what am I gonna do if it doesn't work with MPE..... :cry:

There is no plan to implement anything to support windows mobile because
a) only one SE-phone uses it
b) there are enough other apps which can sync with windows mobile

I'd have thought that for MPE to be considered the best it would be compatible for all SE phones...Especially if it is an easy thing to do. Surely the X1 won't be the 1st and last to have Windows mobile either...

We will see what the time brings.
Currently i don't know if SE will make more models with Windows Mobile. You think you know it, but i will wait what happens in future.

Currently there are no plans to support it.

FJ is the programmer of this great pice of software - and he has decided that MPE won't support WinMobile / the X1.

XPERIA X1 and XPERIA X2 are rather popular SonyEricsson PDA's.
They are will be actual for a very long time.
SonyEricsson Aspen also is official declared as Windows Mobile PDA.

ActiveSync connection can be easy useв by any applications.

It is sad that MyPhoneExplorer will not work with WM Platform.

1. i don't know if WM-Phones have good interfaces
2. i think the Aspen is the last SE-Phone with WinMobile
3. i will not work weeks just to support 3 models.

And they are not really popular. The K750 was popular, also the K800 and the C905. And in future maybe the X10-series

And no needs to compare PDA with mobile phone.

X1 is the first SE PDA. Whole PDA world see it as a strong and worthy competitor.

At all - all you say sounds like suddenly in a moment all people will stop using that three SE PDA forever.
But really - no! This PDA will popular and thru 10 years.

Actually - you do not make support for three models.
You make support for thousands of users and for many years.
Nowadays unable to move contacts and other data from mobile phone to pda and vice versa.

PS May be you hate PDA's or Microsoft ? "Device racism" ?
Symbian, android - all but windows mobile.

No, i do not hate them. You have some good arguments, but itsn't a question of money, its a question of time ;-)

Actually it should take less time you think.

All data already collected in \pim.vol open database.
ActiveSync provides already designed interface.

All you need to do - just adapt fields.

There are many programmers in the Internet who works with that database.

These are diffrent things.
ActiveSync is for the connection between PC and phone - and this interface is really limited. Its makes no sense to start with ActiveSync. For a complete solution i would have to write an application which runs as client on the phone - and this task is for me also a problem cause i am not familiar with developing apps in C-Language.

To access the data... but there are other actions like sending sms, starting calls which has to be done.

I prefer Visual basic, but Java would be also OK. At the moment i am working on Android - and this will take much time...
