russian is not supported in SMS

Hi,

I tried to use russian in SMS and it's not working. I'm getting ??? symbols in the recepient side.

Please advise if it can be corrected.

Please post the logfile driectly after you started MyPhoneExplorer. did you set the russian system-charset on your PC ?

I did set russian char set in the PC. I'm running Vista but it was the same in Windows 2000.

Hmm, i thought i made no changes in messagecoding. Does it also happen with Version 1.6.7 ?

yap. I see russian when I type in the SMS. Now I paid attention to interesting phenomena: I see russian in a baloon which appears when I point to a sms writen in russian but when I open it I see ? marks only

Its also not working in v1.6.7 - thats very strange. Are you sure that you have set the correct system-charset ? there is a feature in v1.6.7 and v1.7 which is only visible if you have set the russian charset (cause it makes only sense in russia). There is one more button in the Toolbar of the Window "New message..." - its called "Encode to Translit". Do you see this button ?

If you don't see the translit-button then your system-charset is not set to russian.

what do you mean by system char set? I'm running Windows with english as default. When I want to type russian, I change it in the language bar.

Cause your PC is not set to russian. You can change the chrset in Controlpanel->Regional Settings
