Not Responding, closes programme.
Just today when i try to archive messages MPE doesn't respond and then windows has to close it... Does the archive have a limit to how many messages it can hold? It does have nearly 33,000 texts in there...

As far as i can remember there is (or was?) a theoretical limit of about 32,000 messages, so yes - that could be the reason. In the folder %appdata%\MyPhoneExplorer\"youMPEuser" should be a file "Archiv.dat". Move it to another folder and try to start MPE again. So we can determine that the message archive is the problem.

Right okay, i removed the file and it started fine, so i'm guessing that is the problem, thank you for that, but now i have another problem. MPE crashes when i try to make a html file of my 33,000 messages... Any ideas? Cause i would really like to keep my messages... And i don't mind saving them as a html list or in word or whatever.
html-export is not good, and the same is the word-export. The best would be to export it as *.sms, so you can import them later if needed.
Another thought: Maybe MPE needs a lot of time and CPU-power and so Windows thinks it is crashed. So open the taskmanager and have a look the processes while exporting the archive or while starting MPE with the 33k messages; If it needs more and more memory then it is still working - if not it is crashed.

HELP
I am having the same problems as well. It crashes when I run MPE, and I get the message MyMhoneExplorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. I have reinstalled it a few times and I get the same message. I think I got around 30,000 messages stored in my computer archive. PLEASE PLEASE tell me what I should do step by step.
Many Thanks.
Many Thanks.

MPE autoshut
I ready thru the suggestion here of the possibility of message have large archives.
When I installed MPE 2 days ago it worked beautifully. The next day when i try to open it, it autoshut without any message in 1-2seconds.
I went to my program folder into MPE folder to look for archiv.dat but none could be found. Now i can't use...

I'm not sure which file raises the crash. Please Open the datafolder (%appdata%\MyPhoneExplorer). There is a folder for your phone based on Model and IMEI. In this folder you can find the datafiles. Rename one file after the other and try to start. If you have found the file which raised the crash then send it to me please zipped vie email.

<at>gmx.at?? is this the correct ending address??FJ hat geschrieben:Perfect. Please send the file to fj.wechselberger<at>gmx.at . I'll delete the file from my PC after i have found the bug - you can trust me. I only need it for bugfixing.
can't seem to go thru
I got the file - thanks.
What the hell you do with near 4000 contacts
MyPhoneExplorer was not made for this amount cause the non-symbian phones were not able to store so many contacts. I fixed now the bug which raised MPE to crash. cause the large amount of contacts i decided to optimize the importing of the Phonebook.dat-File. Result: MyPhoneExplorer is now about 70% faster with loading the phonebookfile on startup.
You can get the fixed beta here

phonebook
i know why u use <at>.....just the ending address with "at" i have not come across...
no...it's less than 4000 entries...will lotsa duplications... somehow when i deleted/updated some entries either in my p1i or notebook, i will still get the old copy back...
i have tried to amended in my p1i ..then sync with notebook...but after a while i see the old entry back...*sigh*...
after many rounds of manual updating, i got feed up.
infact once i took the risk of sync it all to follow my p1i but later i still got old copies of the entries...
ok, now i will upload the new one and see how it goes...
thanks a millions FJ...for this...you are superb!
