MPE freezes for up to 30 seconds on startup

Hey there,

I'm hoping someone can help me with this problem. I'm using MPE 1.6.6 on Vista SP1 and I find it is great. However, I've noticed a delay when I start up the program and when using some functions. The window loads normally but when I click on the file menu, the mouse pointer turns to the revolving busy sign and I must wait for up to 30 seconds before I can do anything with the program.

I find an identical delay when I try to move messages to the archive. Once I click on the "move to archive" button, the program becomes unresponsive again for a while until I'm eventually asked to delete the messages off the phone. That step is carried out quickly.

The problem has not appeared immediately but over the course of the last month or so. As the delay is so substantial now, I can no longer ignore it and I'm trying to see what I can do. I searched the forum but I found nothing.

Update first to v1.6.7, it should work faster. and tell me how many messages do you archive

Hello, and thanks for the reply!

Updating helped a lot. The delay on startup is about 12 seconds now, and there's no delay anymore when moving messages to the archive.

There's almost 4660 messages in the archive.
