How to copy sms marked as type:personal

Hi,

I've had a search through the site but can't find an answer to this. I'm trying to back up my sms messages but only 61 of 470 are showing. Looking at the differences the ones which aren't being carried over have in the details "type: personal". Is there a way to copy these over? The phone is a K810.

Where is the problem ?
You cannot read out all messages of the phone with myphoneExplorer ? Or you are not able to export them ?

The problem is that when MPE syncs it says reading 0-470 messages, but then only 61 appear in the inbox in MPE. MPE does not seem to read them all from the phone. All of the messages that aren't copied over are from one person, and when looking on the phone at the message details it has type:personal. The messages that have come across do not have that value. Is there an option somewhere to sync personal sms messages?

You are right - 470 SMS-Slots are used in the phone. But there are 301 SMS which gets saved and not 61. The diffrence between 301 and 470 could be raised cause of messages with more than 160 Chars, those messages gets send in more brackets.

How many messages do you see in MyPhoneExplorer in Drafts and Sent items ?

In sent items I have 234, and in drafts I have 6. The only messages which haven't come over in the inbox are those from the one recipient, none of their messages are in the inbox. I don't think it would be a length issue as not all are long ones, the only difference I could see was the type being personal. It must be their phone as under my sony K810 I can see settings for sending sms types but none as personal.

I checked the logfile again. You are right - there are many items in the Sent-Folder but no message in the inbox from this number. This means that MyPhoneExplorer is not able to read out them. MPE only decodes the output of the phone - if this is not complete then MPE can do nothing against it. But one thing i'm wondering: How did you set the type "personal" in your phone for this contact. I checked my K800i and there was no setting like this.

Thanks for looking into this.

I checked under my K810 settings and there was no option for type:personal for sms or for the contact. I'm assuming this was set under the senders settings for either the contact or sms, if it was my phone then it wouldn't have pulled out the ones in the sent items. I'm pretty sure it was a Nokia but can't say for certain.

Hmm - i know all Flags which are possible in SMS but there is no flag to force the message as personal.

Can you copy such a message on the SIM-Card ?
Are you sure that you are talking from SMS and not MMS ?
