MPE: Upgrade from 1.5.9 to 1.6.7

I'm using MPE ver. 1.5.9 and would like to upgrade to 1.6.7.

I do not want to lose any data or settings (PC SMS archive, call lists,
Outlook sync settings...). Can this transition be smooth? If yes, please let
me know how to do it? Simply overwrite, or...? Should I pay some extra
attention?

Make a backup before updating: Extras --> create backup

Then install the new version and launch MPE.
Normally it should work without problems.

Should I restore full backup after upgrading?

I don't need separately to export Contact, SMS... in VCF files?

No data should be lost with upgrading. the backup is only a second chance but if everything is displayed after the update you don't have to restore it.

Well for me it did not...
everything was gone, i had to preform a system restore to get my syncs back...

so, how to upgrade safely?

It should be save when you update the program. I tested it several times. But you are free to create a backup of the datafolder before you upgrade (%appdata%\MyPhoneExplorer)
