Changing a phone, keeping all data (when restoring backup)?

I'm about to switch from one SE model to the another. I'd like to move ALL data.

I've noticed when I create a full backup it can be only applied to the _same_ phone (not really sure, did that once).

My Q is: I'll make a full backup, will I able to connect the new phone and load full backup from the previous phone? If not, what should I do to make this transition to go smoothly? Please help me out.

Once I did export Contacts and SMS to VCF files, and uploaded them from VCF to a new phone (that worked). However, I lost Calls and PC Archive! How to avoid that now.

Its not planned to include the call-lists in the backup-feature but the other data you can restore also with another profile/phone
