Calendar Symbol Questions

Beitrag von BELSony »

Hi there, Looks to be a nice program I'd like to use with my Sony phones. Think the C905 will be my next one or maybe Xperia1. I am setting it up to use the calendar to record my apoitments & then sync with Google calendar.I previously tried with Outlook & it didn't go well. I don't like outlook.

Questions. There are now a few red ! & yellow smiley faces from the previous outlook syn without any information in the calendar. Mostly past events How do I delete these from the phone?

When entering an appointment do I enter it in the location line? It show up on the phone as say Dr Smilt but on goggle its blank unless I click on the calendar to look at it then it shows up. I'd prefer to see the Dr Smilt without having to click on each event. How do I make this happen?

Is there a guide t owhat the various icons in MPE mean?

Thanks :?:

First thing: the Xperia1 will not be compatible with MPE because AFAIK it has Windows Mobile as Operating System.

The red ! are special days but not a holiday (e.g. mothers day in Austria).
The yellow smile is a holiday in your country.
They aren't on the phone, they are just shown in MPE, but if you want to add such a holiday to the phone, choose right click-Add holiday as appointment (or similiar, I have it in German  )

Deleting Calendar Events Is it necessary?

Beitrag von BELSony »

Thanks for the xperia comment. Think I like the C905 better anyway.

Given that there is a 300 limit to appoinntments do I need to delete past event to avoid the limit or will they clear after the date?
If so how does one do that?
Thanks,

The old appointments are not deleted automatically.
But you can use right click -> the last entry ("delete old appointments" or similiar)

if you want all the holidays on the phone i think its better to import a holiday-ical-file. They have recurring events and so you will not blow all 300 avaiable items away. Those files are mostly used in Sunbird - google will help.
