Hello,
I'm using this program for a few years now and absolutely love it. Thanks!
Recently, I had to replace my handset (W800i), due to malfunction. Prior to the swap, I did a backup (using MPE), then moved to the new phone, introduced it to MPE, and did a restore. The new handset is another W800i.
All looked good (except for the known problem with messages in the "Sent" folder losing their date/time stamp, so they're now out of order. No big issue).
Now, the weirdest thing started happening: apparently, very old messages from my "Sent items" started to get re-sent, without any action on my part or any indication in MPE. I only realized that when I started receiving peculiar responses from people I had no contact with for months or more... obviously they couldn't understand what the message was about (some of the messages sent were awkward, because they were extremely out of context ).
Any idea what can lead to such behaviour? I now hesitate to let MPE connect back to the phone until I figure it out, since I don't know whether it will act up again and what will be sent next
Thanks,

I don't think MyPhoneExdplorer startest to resend the messages. Can you filter out when the messages were resend ? When the phone was connected to PC or not,... can you please ask your receipients of the messages ? |

Well, I have no tracking on those messages that were sent, they are not filed anywhere. I noticed the problem via two indications: (a) I always use "delivery reports", and I got a couple of delivery reports of messages to people I haven't SMS'ed to for months (but, old messages sent to them are still filed in Sent Items), and (b) I got a few replies from people who responded to the text of very old messages.
On the other hand, I'm quite positive that the sending happened only when the phone was connected (Bluetooth) to MPE. I only connected MPE to the phone twice since the change of handsets, and the delivery reports and the responses were very adjacent to these times.
I'm not sure whether MPE itself sent the message, or that the restore process somehow flagged the messages "to be sent", or I don't know what...
Thanks!!

There is no flag "to be sent" which i could access with MyPhoneExplorer. Also i didn't notice this bug from any other user before. I know its a bad situation cause you are not able to view when a such a message gets resend.
Please note that MyPhoneExplorer Logs the whole communication to the phone. I would prefer following: Everytime you were connected with MyPhoneExplorer you backup the Logfile (Debug.txt) before you close the program. If there are still messages get resend then we can take a look at the logfiles if MPE ever did something like sending messages. |

Thanks. I'll do that (although I'm quite concerned as to what old message will get resent this time....) and revisit this topic when I have something. |
