For some reason, when I do a "multi sync," the phone will not sync with the atomic clock now. As my job involves fixing clocks, I use the exact time on my phone maybe 3 or 4 times a day.
Any reason why this has happened?
Ive re-installed the software but it still does it.
TIA

Is there a firewall i.e. Norton active? It is likely that these programms prohibit access to a time server.
You may also try to change the time server:
Menu>>Options(F2)>>Advanced 1 and select another time server |

Its not the Firewall as its been working fine for a long time. It only started doing it in the last few days or so.
I'll try your suggestion of another time server....thanks for the reply. |

Hi there,
I've got similar problem with "Sync Clock via Internet", I'm using MPE 1.6.7
I tried to change the time server but it was no good, the firewall is not causing it
because the problem occurred about a week ago, but anyway I added MPE to the firewall exeption list...
Any ideas
Thanks in advance |

The Port of the Timesync was changed from 37 (TIME-Port) to 123 (NTP-Port). Maybe you need a specific portexception in your firewall. |

I decided to register just to give attention to this bug.
MyPhoneExplorer does not find any time server. It does not matter if the timeserver is nl.pool.ntp.org or ntp.xs4all.nl or anyone of the list predefined in MPE, nor does it matter if the address is an IP-address or a DNS address.
With Windows Firewall disabled and my router DMZ-mode to my pc, it keeps failing. Other programs (like ping, windows time synchronization) do function under the same circumstances.
It's not a life threatening problem, but hey it's a bug. Please fix it. |

Interesting...
I still think it may depend on your settings.
I tried it just now with the predefined pool.ntp.org and it worked fine.

Hmm - could you please record the network-transfer with Winshark ? It works on my PC (and also on thousands others) flawlessly. |

Dear FJ & Weinbi,
Thank you for your quick response. I couldn't get WinShark to work (got Vista, sorry), so I relied on it's open source friend Wireshark. After getting rid of all redundant network traffic and keeping only traffic which could remotely involve MyPhoneExplorer, I started out a full synchronisation and was still left with 9794 packets. This is likely because my Outlook '07-PST file is on my NAS (192.168.1.8 ).
I made sure that no more irrelevant packets were coming in, and then in the MyPhoneExplorer window I went to Extra (Extras) and clicked Synchroniseer klok met Internet (Uhr mit Internet abgleichen).
Useful to know, are my private ip addresses:
Router: 192.168.1.1
Workstation: 192.168.1.10
NAS: 192.168.1.8
After logging, as you can see below in Attachment 1, it became clear that internet traffic created by MyPhoneExplorer is not destined to the router but to my NAS.
As seen in Attachment 2 (route print), the routes and gateway are configured fine (yeah I have 5 NICs, so what , 3 VMWare, 1 NIC, 1 WLAN). Just to make sure, I pinged pool.ntp.org again and generated some internet traffic, all of those were responsive.
So there you are. I hope I have been cooperative enough
