Hi,
I got an Edimax BT dongle with latest Toshiba BT stack driver (came with it).
The "Auto Connect" in the connection details is checked and I paid
attention that if I start calendar synchronization, it will initiate the port
and do the sync.
I'm not sure if "Auto Connect" means that it should scan for devices all the time and connect when they are in range. If that's what it is supposed to do, then it doesn't happen. If it doesn't happen, MYPHEXP won't initiate a sync.
I had another dongle that worked with WIDCOMM but I had to pair it every time the connection broke.
Is there a way for MYPHEXP to do scheduled sync acording to a defined interval? That way, if the phone is in range, it will synchronize, and if not, it should fail quietly.
thanks,
/Shmulik.
BT auto-reconnect and Sync
If Auto-Connect is selected then MyPhoneExplorer will try to open the Port every 10 seconds if the connection got lost. This does not work with every Bluetooth-Stack.
No - this is against my strategy. I don't like apps which changes data silently (and i also will not program functions like this)Is there a way for MYPHEXP to do scheduled sync acording to a defined interval? That way, if the phone is in range, it will synchronize, and if not, it should fail quietly.

Regarding Auto-connect: Is there any way to see this 10-sec retry or can I help in any way to make it work with Toshiba stack?
Regarding scheduled sync: You already have 2 automatic syncs as options - when the connection is made manually and automatically. I did not say to do it silently, but do it like you do any other automatic sync. One can also choose to show the "differences" dialog (and if I don't choose it, data will be changed without me knowing exactly what changed). The "quiet" part is when the phone is not in range, so no need to popup errors, etc.
The bottom line is that I don't want my phone to be unsynchronized because I forgot to specifically push a button to sync it.
regards,
/Shmulik.

Hi,
Fair enough, I wouldn't won't you to further compromise, although it's a standard feature in Nokia's PC-Suite at least.
Is there any way I can do calendar sync via command line then? This will give me another way of automating it without resorting to crude mouse/keyboard script runner.
I'll see if I can find the Connect-Try in the logfile.
thanks,
/Shmulik.

Hi,
So this is what I see in the log:
Lots of these clauses:
03:50:24.18 Port 40 wird geschlossen
03:50:34.27 Neue COM-Bibliothek wird verwendet
03:50:41.97 Settimeout: RT=2000 WT=200
03:50:42.47 Port 40 wurde ge?ffnet!
03:50:42.47 Settimeout: RT=1500 WT=500
03:50:42.47 [TX]: AT+CGSN
03:50:43.97 Port 40 wird geschlossen
03:50:54.07 Neue COM-Bibliothek wird verwendet
03:51:01.79 Settimeout: RT=2000 WT=200
03:51:02.29 Port 40 wurde ge?ffnet!
03:51:02.29 Settimeout: RT=1500 WT=500
I do no see any "wait" here - it seems to be happening every minute..?
I also see a lot of these go on for a long time:
09:30:30.29 [TX]: AT+CSQ
09:30:30.37 [RX]: AT+CSQ
09:30:30.37 [RX]: +CSQ: 99,99

09:30:40.49 [RX]: AT+CBC
09:30:40.49 [RX]: +CBC: 0, 100
09:30:40.51 [RX]: OK
I didn't stop the application yesterday (account logged in continuously), but the log seems to be cut around 13:52 and continues this morning when I arrived. It also connected automatically and syncronized after a fwe minutes of me being by my computer. I'm not sure why sometimes it will succeed and sometimes not...? can it be a problem with the COM library?
The relevant part of the log:

13:52:02.04 [TX]: AT+CBC
13:52:03.54 Port 40 wird geschlossen
09:26:43.22 Neue COM-Bibliothek wird verwendet

09:26:46.77 [RX]: AT+CBC
09:26:46.77 [RX]: +CBC: 0, 100
09:26:46.80 [RX]: OK
Finally - the "date modified" of debug.txt is set to five days ago, and it's only about 3MB - are you rolling it..?
hope this helps,
/Shmulik.

Please never compare MyPhoneExplorer with any PC-Suite from the common brands. If you find those good you can use them. For commandlineoptions please read the FAQ.it's a standard feature in Nokia's PC-Suite
Why should there be a "Wait" ? I forgot to tell you one more important thing: MyPhoneExplorer does the 10-seconds-poll only in minimized mode. I had to do this cause some BT-Softwares block MyPhoneExplorer for a few seconds if the phone is not found.

Now it works :-)
FJ,
That small tip was very important and should probably be highlighted in the sync settings dialog itself. Now that it is minimized, it is connecting OK.
Also, there is no need to take offence by comparison. MYPHEXP lets me upload applications easily, and that's its forte. Striving to make it a whole solution should be everyone's purpose.
thanks,
/Shmulik.
