I don't like the BOLD of SMS not going off.

Beitrag von Bryan84 »

With 1.6.7, I don't like the fact that I have to double click onto the new SMS before the boldness is off. So troublesome.

Can you just make it so that when we click on it, it automatically unbold itself stating that we have read it? Kind of like option in Microsoft Outlook when after xx seconds, the SMS is considered READ.

It gets unbold after 15 seconds or if you change the focus to the textbox below.

Err, the 2 conditions you mentioned above, it not working here. :(

Even after 15 seconds, it's not unbold.

And even if I change focus, it does not unbold.

Just tested again - it works.
Mark the message in the list and jump with the mouse into the textfield on the bottom.
Also the 15-seconds-delay works (but i think i will reduce the delay to 7 seconds)

Maybe you can set a field for us in the Option that we can set the delay seconds of our own perference?

You know my opinion. I don't want to add for every little piece an extra option

Oh alright. I did not know you did not like hearing from your clients feedback to improve. Oh well then. Your answer your gave was ... *bad* to say the least. Not sure how that option will hurt you.

Good luck.

You are too fast pissed of...
I will add in future a contextmenuentry called "Mark all messages as read". Will this help you ?

If so, why did you even have to make such a comments when your clients are trying to just provide you feedback? Things that can help improve your application. I just don't get it.

Anyway I downgraded back to 1.6.6.

fj, great work with the software! the boldness thing, great feature. i also agree not creating an option for every little thing, it makes the software more complicated! but for that to work you must listen to the users input, so here's my input: i think 7 seconds is too much. 2 or 3 seconds is enough. my outlook is waiting 1 sec before it considers the email read. but that's just me, i live fast... :-)

Mine outlook is at 0 seconds. :P Haha. As soon as I click on it, it's marked READ.

Thank you for listening. :)

I'll wait for the next version to be release before I upgrade. I'll stay with 1.6.6 for now. :)

I also think 5 seconds are more than enough.

frm my point of view.. 5sec delay is more appropriate rather than 15sec.
coz, reading sms is not as long as reading an email..

anyway, the bold sms to indicate new sms is a great idea to
differentiate between old and new sms.. u just need to added a few more
features like "mark as read" stuff..

just my 2 cents.. cheers ~

FJ, in your 1.7.0, you still did not have an option for us to bold or not bold incoming messages?

Cause till now, I still must actually double click on the new messages before the bold goes off. But most of the time we do not need to double click on the message to read everything since the preview panel at the bottom allows us to read everything.

Or at least allow us to onclick the new sms (without double xxx) that the bold will go off?

how about any hotkey to "mark all as read" ?

You can use "mark all as read" to unbold every message - so what's the problem?
However, a hotkey or a toolbar item would be helpful!

@Gast: In v1.7.0 the delay is set to 4 seconds.
@Bryan84: No, there is no option to disable unread messages. You are faster if you change the focus on a bold message to the textfield on the bottom - or you wait 4 seconds.
@weinbi: Hotkey - an idea which hotkey you would prefer for this ?

Hi FJ,

What do you mean by change the focus on a bold message to the textfield at the bottom?

How about a Hotkey as - Ctrl M (Mark all as read)

Or you may even allow us to customize it ourselves like the other hotkeys there are. :D
