Keeping your data when re-installing

I presumed this question should allready have been answered but I've searched the forum a lot and cant seem to find any threads about it.

After a reinstall (of windows) I install MPE and try to get my archived data back in place first thing, but it seems strangely complicated to get there.
When I go to options->advanced 2->database and point to the old directory (eg. F:\Bård\Mob) I get asked only if I want to overwrite the old database, or cancel. No option to append to or the likes. Then I
-close MPE
-make a copy the contents in "F:\Bård\Mob\MyPhoneExplorer\Sony Ericsson W810 [359061003259586]" folder
-start MPE, choose F:\Bård\Mob in settings and accept overwrite database
-close MPE
-paste contents back into F:\Bård\Mob\MyPhoneExplorer\Sony Ericsson W810 [359061003259586]
-start MPE

Still no data neither in archived messages nor in the calendar.


What am I doing wrong? And wouldnt it be easier to implement a simple feature for this?

Oh well, after a few restarts the User-menu appeared. That helped a lot

Would be nice to see a feature for this though, seems like I go messing about everytime I reinstall (which is quite often in windowsworld. You'll see me migrating to Linux pretty soon)
